Established in 1974 in Southern California, the Over the Hill Gang is one of the largest veteran motocross clubs in the country. The Over the Hill Gang includes five chapters – South, Valley, Bay, Sierra, and Reno, with our Reno chapter being third oldest.

We typically race on Sundays and have five rider classifications – Beginner, Novice, Intermediate, Expert, & Master.  The OTHG is open to racers 30 years of age and older with age groups of 30+, 38+, 45+, 52+, and 65+.  We also run support classes for all ages and abilities so the whole family can come out and race.  Many members choose to run both Vet and support classes for a maximum fun factor.

Our goal is for each rider to have fun and be competitive in their respective class.  To accomplish this, a new members first two events are for class evaluation.  Our race directors monitor both new and current riders for proper class placement.  Riders will be evaluated on the data available (race finishes, lap times, etc.)  and will be promoted to the appropriate class so that the rider is in the best fit classification for their skill and speed levels.  Points towards their year end ranking will still be awarded during this two race period.  Points totals for all other qualifying race results and events attended are maintained though out the year for final tally at the annual Reno OTHG banquet, which is typically help in January and February of the following year.

Each chapter operates independently.  Each chapter hosts one National race per year with separate national points being maintained and year end standings are recognized for that effort.  It’s a five race series and every race counts towards the National #1 title.  National #1 riders can choose to run the red background the following year to proudly show their accomplishment.
